Aynex The Musical

I have managed to make it to nine days before leaving without crying too much. But then I saw the video. This video was taken by Mary Thorsby at my art opening/goodbye party on Friday. I edited it when I could manage to see the computer in between all the tears. It felt funny to make a video of how great I am but I didn't make anyone say what they said. I must have watch the video ten times last night.

Thank you to everyone that came and to Mary for taking the video. I will miss you all terribly and you are making it very hard to leave but this is what I have to do. I'll be back to visit so get your guest beds ready!

Aynex,

I wish I had stayed long enough to say something mushy to Mary for you. Before you leave, you better tell me You are going to miss my food! I know I'm going to miss feeding you!

Love you,

Grace

What a wonderful tribute to you, Aynex. You have made such a wonderful impact on Lowertown in Paducah and you are obviously so loved by your friends and neighbors there. It's clear that they will truly miss you and you will miss them too. This special place in the USA is so unique in that people hang out together on porches and visit, they support and genuinely care about each other, share common interests in the arts and appreciate each others skills and creativity and so much more. I loved watching this video and especially seeing some of the people that Craig and I met on our visits there. We felt that they really cared for you and watched out for you, respected you and enjoyed your company and this video certainly shows how very much this is true. We wish you all the best in the next chapter of your life. And I'll be checking your blog to keep up with what's next in the life of Aynex Mercado. Hugs and best wishes, Nina
