Final drawing

My drawing class is over and here is the final project I did for the class. The purpose of the drawing was to use a pair of shoes to tell a story about you. I am not a shoe person. I have two pairs of shoes my sneakers and my everyday shoes. A drawing of my sneakers would have said something athletic about me and that is probably the word that less describes me, not too mention they are hard to draw. My other shoes are boring. The only other shoes are my slippers and I thought that was a better description of myself. Here is my Morning Routine. I think I am getting an A in the class but we'll see...

Trompe l'oeil

Yesterday I had to do a trompe l'oeil for my drawing class. I was dreading doing it because the point of trompe l'oeil is to make something look as real as possible and my drawing skills are not there yet. Plus I had to do it in justpencil and how can you make something look real when you are just using pencil?

After all the agonizing it turned out better than I thought. I'm happy with my drawing but I
wouldn't call it a trompe l'oeil. Here is what I was drawing:

And here is my drawing:

I'm almost done with my drawing class and I'm very happy with the results. I'm taking more art classes next semester. Here is what I have done so far.

I don't know why but the pictures look better than the actual drawings. Now on to my final projects.

Kandinsky Sunday - Finally!

The mortal Aynex has been drawing and drawing all day. Finally she made some drawings of the mot important part of her life... ME! She may need more practice.

More Drawings

The assignment here was to make two drawings of the same place at different times of the day.

This was a separate assignment. This is the other side of the same room.

More Drawings

I think my drawings are getting better every week which is a good thing. We started working with charcoal. At first I hated it but now I'm getting more used to it. I still hate getting myself and everything around me dirty but the results are pretty cool. What do you think?

Drawing

Here is another drawing I just finished for my Drawing class. It is all about cross contour line. I liked the close up because it almost looks like abstract shapes. Yesterday we started using charcol and I like the effects you can get but I don't like the mess. Not on the clothes!

From my sketchbook...

I have been taking a drawing class for 3 weeks now and for someone that thought she couldn't draw these past three weeks have been eye-opening. Here is a still life I just finished. This is a picture of what I was looking at:

And here are my sketches. The first one is cross contour and took about an hour.

The second one was a quick gesture drawing that took about 20 minutes.

They are about 8" x 10". They are not bad considering that I just started. Hopefully it gets better from here.
