Not my day week...

Today is not my day. I should just go back to bed.

When I was fifteen I had scoliosis and had metal rods put on my spine. I was in the hospital for a month. Then four years later I had a car accident and was in the hospital for five months plus years of physical therapy. Then two years later I had another surgery and was in the hospital for about a week. Every time I leave the hospital I think "This got to be the last time in the hospital because I have had my share." Well, it doesn't work that way...

I'm depressed because I am having a problem with my hip. It is giving out on me and I fall or I couldn't put any weight on it so I couldn't walk. So I went to the doctor after a lot of hesitation because I hate the doctors here. They took some X-rays of my hip and saw that I have arthritis on my hip and eventually I will need hip replacement surgery. That sounds awful! It sounds like something only people in their 80's have. I have talked to a few people and they tell me is not that bad. And two people said "Well, at least is not cancer." I guess that is true. I am a fairly healthy person. I don't smoke, drink occasionally moderately, exercise, eat right (most of the time), drink lots of water (or try to) but that doesn't keep me from the hospital. Maybe I need to start eating an apple a day.

I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. When I had the accident, the doctor told me that those rods in my spine saved my life. Everyone asks me if I am in pain because supposedly the arthritis hurts a lot. I'm not in any pain. I'm guessing that the accident messed up my nerves and I don't feel the pain. The accident is probably why I have this problem now in the first place because I don't walk like we are meant to walk and probably put stress in places I shouldn't have for many years but I'm lucky now that at least I don't feel the pain.

If that wasn't enough I broke my camera because I fell with it on my hand and I ordered a new one. Today I was supposed to get it. When I tracked the package this morning it said that it had been delivered yesterday but I never got it. Good thing I bought it at Amazon and they are already sending a replacement. As Mary Thorsby would say "They rock!". My BFF has been a good BFF and baked me cookies this morning eventhough she is on a diet, brought some packages to the post office for me and brought me a mocha to work.

So far 2008 hasn't had a great start. Let' hope it gets better...

1/17/08 Addition: I called Amazon about my lost camera. They said they would send me a replacement. This morning the UPS guy was at my door with my camera. How cool is that! Did I mentioned that Amazon rocks? Now the camera is not that great but that is not their fault.

I have arthritis so I am glad that you feel no pain.

I hope your New Year gets better--JLily
