I couldn't find any intersesting holidays today but I did found out that today was the day of the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster over the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of central Florida, at 11:39 a.m. in 1986. Seven people died including Christa McAuliffe, who was going to be the first teacher in space. For that reason many students in school watched the lift off and the explosion live as it happened. I was one of them. I remember sitting in my desk in my third grade class in the little island of Puerto Rico (yes, we have TVs) watching the horrible accident. I think the only other time we watch live TV in the classroom I was in 10th grade and we saw the veredict on the OJ Simpson case. What was my teacher thinking? I think she just wanted to know herself. That was another live disaster. Anyhoo... I also found out that today is also Sarah McLachlan's birthday and what song could be more appropriate than this one
