Today is... Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day

Yes, today is Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day! I'm not making this up. Look it up. Just think of what we would do without bubble wrap. How many broken things we would receive in the mail, how many more dishes you would have broken in that move? What would we do without the simple pleasure of popping all those bubbles? Did you know that bubble wrap was invented in 1957 by Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes? Like many innovations, it was accidental: The two were trying to create a textured plastic wallpaper with paper backing that could be easily cleaned.

There is a toy in Japan called Mugen Puchipuchi. It is a keychain that mimics bubble wrap bubbles that you can pop at anytime. Every 100 pops it makes a different sound. According to their pictures, I think they are saying that popping bubble wrap is going to make you cry. I don't know because the website is in Japanese.

I know that now I got you in the mood of popping some bubbles. Click on the image below and you can pop'em!! How cool is that!

Aynex, you're too much! Bubble wrap to pop on the computer. What ever is thought up next - you'll find it!
I think the gal in the ad is crying because she's laughing so hard. After a certain age, you laugh hard, you leak at both ends... la-la-la
